camp coordinator checklist 

During the registration process, host applicants will be asked to review the Camp Coordinator Checklistand verify they understand the responsibilities associated with hosting an AFA CyberCamp. ​

The individual who submits the application to host a camp is, by default, the camp coordinator for that camp. This person will act as the organization's single point of contact throughout the camp season. All camp-related emails (including the demo software download links) are sent to the camp coordinator only, and this person is responsible for sharing any pertinent camp information with the necessary parties.

Instructor Requirements

Standard CyberCamps

  • An approved adult instructor must be supplied by the camp host.
  • Instructors/assistants must be 18 years or older and must complete a child protection program of the hosting location's choice prior to the camp.
  • Instructors should have experience working with computers, basic knowledge of cybersecurity, and familiarity with virtual machines.
  • One instructor/assistant for every ten students.

Advanced CyberCamps

  • An approved adult instructor must be supplied by the camp host​.
  • Instructors/assistants must be 18 years or older and must complete a child protection program of the hosting location's choice prior to the camp.
  • Instructors should have advanced knowledge of networking, Windows 10, and Ubuntu 18​.
  • Recommend two instructors to assist with set up.
  • One instructor/assistant for every five students.
    • An expert for each operating system and a networking expert is highly recommended.
