The Air Force recognizes there is a critical need for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) talent for future technology and innovation efforts within our nation’s STEM workforce. A diversified STEM talent pool will establish the pace of technology advancements and enable the Air Force to avoid technological surprises. A transformational STEM workforce will also direct the path of technological dominance and sustain a combat edge for our armed services.
The Air Force STEM Outreach Office services the Air Force and surrounding communities through fostering development, improvement, coordination, and assessment of Air Force K-12 STEM outreach programs across the United States. The office also works with other Department of Defense components, academia, and industry to efficiently & effectively improve K-12 STEM literacy.
Additionally, the Air Force offers numerous programs spanning high school juniors/seniors through Ph.D. These include fellowship, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities at Air Force locations across the country.
