Build Your Own Practice Images
Because of the proprietary nature of the CyberPatriot Competition System (CCS), the CyberPatriot Program Office is unable to release any practice images outside of the scored rounds of competition or the Exhibition Rounds during the summer. However, teams may take advantage of two other practice image options that do not use our scoring system. These options have been provided to the program by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi on a National Science Foundation grant. These images are to be used only for CyberPatriot training and may not be used in a for-profit manner.

Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows server 2008

(Note: Windows 10 images are not supported.)

Note: The self-scoring system is no longer supported, but it still works.

The below self-scoring system is for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2008 images. To use this client, follow these steps:

  1. Download a Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 Professional or Windows Server 2008 Standard (not R2) image. You will need to see if your organization has access to Windows Keys.
  2. Download the Scoring Engine To ol v3.0.1 for the image.
  3. Implement vulnerabilities in the image and configure the scoring client found in the SEHelp.chm file in the SEHelpv3 folder in the zipped Scoring Engine Tools v3.0.1  folder.

Version 3 of the scoring engine now allows a range of values to be scored as correct for some variables. See the SEHelpv3.chm file for more details.

Please note that while the engine may be called the CyberPatriot Scoring Engine, this is not the official scoring engine used in the competition. The official scoring software is called the CyberPatriot Competition System (CCS).
